From January 7 to 10, 2026, the 13,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT) stainless steel chemical tanker PRIME FORTUNE, jointly constructed by Primeco Navigation Ltd. and Zhoushan Dashenzhou Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., smoothly completed its sea trials. Aligned with international ship inspection standards, the trials conducted tests on core projects, laying a solid foundation for subsequent optimization, adjustments and official commissioning. This milestone marks a crucial step for Primeco Navigation in its strategic layout of the high-end chemical transportation market.
As the first benchmark vessel under the two parties’ "Three-Vessel Coordinated Construction" project, the vessel took merely two months from keel laying on November 5 to the conclusion of sea trials. The highly efficient progress demonstrates the robust technical capabilities and seamless collaboration of both parties. The trials focused on verifying the operational performance of the vessel’s various systems and supporting equipment. The data collected will provide strong support for performance optimization, helping the vessel meet its high-end positioning of "safety, environmental-friendliness and efficiency" as well as international operation standards.
A relevant responsible person from Primeco Navigation stated that the company will work with Zhoushan Dashenzhou Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. to sort out and analyze the sea trial data, carry out targeted optimization and adjustments, and simultaneously accelerate the certificate application process and the final phase of equipment commissioning to ensure the vessel’s smooth commissioning.
Upon its operation, the vessel will optimize Primeco Navigation’s oil and chemical tanker capacity structure and enhance its competitiveness in the high-end market. It will also accumulate valuable experience for the construction and sea trials of subsequent vessels in the same series.
